2. Pick catchy and SEO friendly Title
The most important part of any article or blog post is its title. A title is supposed to be catchy and attention-grabbing so that people click on it and read the complete article.
There are thousands of bloggers and writers out there who write blog posts and articles every day. However, it is not easy to write a blog post that will rank on Google and get you noticed.
The key to writing an article or blog post that ranks on Google is to pick an SEO-friendly title. Without it, no one will be likely to read your article.
After all, who would waste time on something with a boring title?
It is also supposed to contain the keywords that you want to rank for. You can use a very simple trick to write a catchy title that will not only catch the attention of your readers, but will also help you rank for your desired keywords.
3. Include Keywords in Meta Description & Headings
Include keywords in your meta description & headings. Just as the meta description is important for helping search engines understand what a page is about, so too are your headings.
It is crucial that your headings match your content, but it is equally important that your headings also contain keywords you want to be found for. If you have a blog post about 'dog training,' for example, it makes sense to use 'how to train a dog' as a heading.
Your meta description should be between 150-160 characters long and should be placed in the head section of your webpage. In addition, it should be placed in the HTML code, right before the opening head tag. This will give Google a hint as to what your page is about. The meta description should be placed in an H1 heading.
4. Add Image Alt Tag or Text
Use descriptive alt text when possible. Alt-text is the text displayed in your browser when an image is not available, or when visually impaired people use a screen reader.
You can enter HTML in the alt text field, but it is not necessary. Having descriptive alt text will help with SEO, but it is also important in usability in general.
5. Solid Link-Building Strategy
Building a solid backlink profile is a tedious process that should not be underestimated. The first thing you should do is to analyze your competitors and see who is linking to them.
Don't go after the big players, rather, go after the smaller sites that are still relevant in the industry. Look for quality over quantity.
